We take fund raising very seriously where we will only support worthwhile causes and all the money collected will go directly to the represented organizations. You can be confident that no individual member, board member, or anyone outside of the organization that we sponsor will see a single penny. And every single dollar collected will go directly to the cause. But if it makes you more comfortable, you can give directly to the sponsored organization, just mention the event name so that we can measure the success of our efforts. It is the difficult times like now where we need your support more than ever. Your help is urgently needed now. Please do what you can.
Starting February 22nd and every two weeks going forward, the Star of David Bikers will begin a program called Challah for Heroes. This is a program that was designed by an individual who is a social worker for Jewish Family and Children's Services. We will delivering Challahs to retired veterans around the region. We are proud to be doing this for the men and women who have sacrificed so much for us all.

While there are many obligations and customs during this period, one that has been with us since our days before the Diaspora is the visiting of the graves of our parents, loved ones and tzaddikim (great sages) of Judaism. As it is stated in the Kitzur Shulchan Aruch, "it is customary to make these visits, give charity in their memory, and to pray for Hashem to have mercy on you during this time of judgment, for the sake of those who have passed before you and now rest in the dust." One of the great travesties is that many of us have challenges that prevent us from participating in this custom. This is where Star of David Bikers can help. During the month of Elul a minion of riders will once again act as your Shaliach (agent) and make this visit and recite the prayers and Kaddish on your behalf. During the month of Elul on Sunday mornings our riders will visit up to 10 cemeteries in the Philadelphia Metro Area. Our minion will read the name of your departed one and offer the recitations as appropriate. Further, if you are able to make a donation, a portion of the monies received will be donated to the Philadelphia Jewish Federation in memory of your loved one.
